Just nak pendekkan cerita sebab ada kebanyakan jumpa doc just simple consult dan selalunya doc guna perkataan "tunggu". Perjumpaan dengan doc pada 22 Julai. Masa tu saya dah habis period, tapi even delay sebulan, heavy bleeding selama 4 hari sahaja dan spotting 5 hari. Memang memenatkan sebab dah la sekolah. Keadaan yang sama berulang kembali.

Pada masa tu lah saya nampak doc tulis pada borang tu DUB. Tak tahu apa DUB, just dah set balik mesti Google.

So, pada masa tu saya dapat Tranexamic Acid. Doc suruh makan pada hari saya period dan bleeding. Balik rumah, saya Google apa fungsi Tranexamic Acid dan apa sebenarnya DUB. Masa dapat tahu, saya sangat down. DUB, pada pandangan saya yang kurang arif ni dia ada sedikit persamaan dengan PCOS. DUB lebih kurang pendarahan berlebihan.

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB)

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) is abnormal bleeding from the vagina that is due to changes in hormone levels.

Causes

1. Every woman's menstrual cycle, or period, is different. On average, a woman's period occurs every 28 days. Most women have cycles between 24 and 34 days apart. It usually lasts 4 - 7 days.
2. Young girls may get their periods anywhere from 21 to 45 days or more apart. Women in their 40s will often notice their period occurring less often.
3. About every month, the levels of female hormones in a woman's body rise and fall. Estrogen and progesterone are two very important hormones. These hormones play an important role in ovulation, the time when the ovaries release an egg.
4. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) most commonly occurs when the ovaries do not release an egg. Changes in hormone levels cause your period to be later or earlier and sometimes heavier than normal.

Symptoms

Symptoms of dysfunctional uterine bleeding may include:

• Bleeding or spotting from the vagina between periods
• Periods that occur less than 28 days apart (more common) or more than 35 days apart
• Time between periods changes each month
• Heavier bleeding (such as passing large clots, needing to change protection during the night, soaking through a sanitary pad or tampon every hour for 2 - 3 hours in a row)
• Bleeding lasts for more days than normal or for more than 7 days

Other symptoms caused by changes in hormone levels may include:

• Excessive growth of body hair in a male pattern (hirsutism)
• Hot flashes
• Mood swings
• Tenderness and dryness of the vagina

A woman may feel tired or have fatigue if she is loses too much blood over time. This is a symptom of anemia.

Haih. Dan fungsi Tranexamic Acid pulak,

Tranexamic Acid is given to stop or reduce heavy bleeding. When you bleed, your body forms clots to stop the bleeding. In some people these break down causing too much bleeding. Tranexamic Acid works by stopping the clots from breaking down and so reduces the unwanted bleeding.

It is used to control bleeding in a number of different conditions. It reduces unwanted or heavy bleeding following some surgery (such as surgery on the prostate, bladder, or cervix), nosebleeds, heavy periods (menorrhagia), bleeding inside the eye, tooth extraction in people who bleed more easily than normal, and in a condition called hereditary angio-oedema.

Senang cerita, Tranexamic Acid ni berfungsi untuk mengelakkan pendarahan berlebihan. Dia akan kontrol pengeluaran darah kita.
